One-stop web portal for university applications

Every year high school students apply to different universities across Pakistan. Currently, students have to individually apply to each university they are interested in attending. How feasible is it to build a web portal that allows for students to fill in a single application which then can be used to apply for multiple universities? Are there any such services available in developed countries that can be learnt from?
