Civic Data Challenge & Govt submitted problem: Tracking price of everyday commodities

The price of everyday commodities has a direct impact on the lives of the most vulnerable citiizens. Slight fluctuations in the price of everyday goods can result in drastic changes in lifestyle. Inspite of this, the prices for essential goods are not benchmarked against the median living wages of citizens. Use the historical CPI (http://www.pbs.gov.pk/ ) to determine whether the affordability of essential goods for the average lower-middle class family has increased or decreased over successive governments. Analyze whether certain class of items typically change in value together, and determine whether there is evidence of price manipulation.

You can also crowd source this information and gamify the data. Optionally create a turn based game that shows how changing prices impact the average Pakistani citizen.
